Commonwealth Schools and Conservatoires - an invitation!

Enterprise Resounds! - the highly successful young musicians’ fundraising scheme used in 2007 and 2009 by the Purcell School and Chetham's School of Music in the UK, is now being offered to other educational organisations throughout the Commonwealth.

Alison warmly invites school and conservatoire music departments in different countries to create and run their own Commonwealth musical programmes under the umbrella of The Commonwealth Resounds!

The Commonwealth Resounds! in Perth, November 2011

We are beginning now to speak to potential partners in Perth, Australia to see how they would like us to run The Commonwealth Resounds! in 2011.

Since 2005, our programme has regularly been linked to the Commonwealth People’s Forum, which takes place at the same time as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings (CHOGM).

The Commonwealth strongly encourages new international partnerships, and this is exactly what we are offering the sophisticated cultural community in Perth.

New Partners

Humphrey Davy SchoolDenis KigongoAlison Cox is currently beginning to identify some exciting new Commonwealth partners in different parts of the UK.

We are particularly excited to welcome Abantu Arts in Devonshire, The Humphry Davy School an outstanding Community Music College in Penzance, and the Bale and Fulmodestone Church communities in North Norfolk.

Girls Resound!

In June 2010 Alison Cox is planning to attend the Partners’ Forum linked to the Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministers Meetings in Barbados.

She hopes to speak about issues affecting female musicians, and how their musical education and opportunities vary throughout the Commonwealth.

Alison has created a new Facebook discussion site called “Girls Resound!” to encourage people to share their ideas and experiences between now and June.
