Creative Saint Helena is involved in Arts on the island in various activities: We run ukulele groups and choirs in two primary schools as formal music is not taught. We teach weekly ballet and tap dance lessons to children, we run weekly Music and Movement sessions for older clients and the central care / nursing facility, we run a weekly adult choir, We run a monthly Art and Craft club for children, we put on Art exhibitions to showcase talented local artists, we put on concerts and theatrical performances such as our recent Stage and Screen show and our Disney Daze show, we put on tea and poetry events, when funds allow, we bring over overseas artists such as last year’s Artist-in-Residence from the UK to share expertise and skills, we get involved in Commonwealth Music Projects such as the Queen’s Jubilee. Teeny (Lucy), the director also teaches piano and violin.
