Would you like to apply to become the Key Music Leader for your country in the Commonwealth Music Relay?
This is a special international project celebrating the Commonwealth’s Year of Youth, running from September 14th 2023 to October 21st 2024. We expect it to come to a grand conclusion in Samoa, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings (CHOGM 2024).
The Key Music Relay Leaders should be proactive, enthusiastic musicians and/or music teachers in their own countries.
You will join a Commonwealth Music Education Circle which will be specially set up for this exciting project. It will be a central point of contact for all Key Music Leaders and Project Managers and will help everyone to share ideas and keep fully informed.
Key Music Relay Leaders will be asked to:
- Attend a short introductory Zoom meeting to learn all about the Commonwealth Music Relay (This will be run by Alison Cox OBE, Founder and Trustee, The Commonwealth Resounds)
- Join the Commonwealth Music Education Circle (we shall give a website link)
- Identify young musicians, schools, conservatoires, universities and music centres in their own countries who would like to take part in the Music Relay.
- Help all those interested to apply via our website link.
- Identify local and national media in their own countries and be prepared to present the Music Relay project on radio, TV and social media networks
- Be featured as Key Music Relay Leaders on our Commonwealth Resounds website.

The Commonwealth Music Relay has been officially endorsed for the Commonwealth’s Year of Youth by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Youth Network.
The Commonwealth Music Relay was launched on September 14th 2023 at the Commonwealth Youth Awards at St James’s Palace, London.
