Would you like to sing our SONG FOR THE COMMONWEALTH as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons?

We would like to invite choirs around the world, wherever they live, however large or small they might be, to join in celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons at 21:45 in the UK and 21:15 in local times around the Commonwealth on June 2nd, 2022.

Would you and your choir be willing to sing our Song for the Commonwealth with thousands of other choirs all over the world?

What is A ‘Song for the Commonwealth’?

We have commissioned a special Song for the Commonwealth, to celebrate the lighting of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons. These events will take place in all 54 Commonwealth countries, and choirs everywhere are warmly invited to take part. On June 2nd 2022, the Song for the Commonwealth will be sung as the Jubilee Beacons are lit at exactly the same time in different time zones all over the world.

We launched a special competition to help create the song. Writers were invited to enter song lyrics and Composers have written music.

After an intense competition, we have now chosen our song, for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons.

Choirs large or small may take part and learn the song ready to sing it on June 2nd 2022. Choirs may be professional or amateur, including singers who are aged between 1 and 99 years old! The choirs may be church choirs, community choirs, youth choirs or groups of singers who enjoy performing together. Everyone is welcome to take part in this very special, unique World Premiere to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons.
